| Eligibility | All quartet competition entrants must either pre-register for the competition or must register the morning of Thursday, April 28, at the registration table from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. There are no age restrictions. A minimum of three quartets must enter for the competition to be viable otherwise it will be cancelled and all entry fees will be refunded. |
| Instrumentation | Any quartet combination of tubas or euphonium is acceptable. |
| Fee | $20.00 |
| Literature/Time | Each quartet must perform one or more substantial works of their choice of at least a total of 7 minutes in length but not to exceed 12 minutes in length. Several movements of a single large work may be used to satisfy this requirement. |
| Adjudicators | A three-judge panel will be selected from the artists/teachers present at the conference to adjudicate the competition. |
